Barbara Thompson is a Board certified nurse practitioner in acute and continuing care, as well as Adult Health.  She has been employed with Montgomery Cardiovascular Associates since 2007. She sees patients in the Montgomery and Prattville offices.

She has always had a special interest in Cardiology. She worked for 16 years as a critical RN in the  critical care areas as well as cardiac catheterization labs and as a flight nurse with UAB. Her interests and love for cardiology as well as her desire to further her career  came from her various experiences  as a RN. Her goals are to help her patients have the best quality of life possible and assist them and their family members in understanding their disease process. Our heart is such an incredible organ. Barbara shares “My desire is to be the best I can possibly be in delivering compassionate quality cardiac care.“

She enjoys spending her free time with her husband and son as well as her other family members . Originally from the Florida coast, she enjoys time at the beach. She enjoys walking, exercising, and sporting events. She absolutely loves all Alabama sports.  Roll Tide!!
